Advancements of Radiation Oncology in Cancer Research
Even though cancer is difficult to cure in the final stages there are still researches are going to find the proper medicine for it in the final stages. For all types of cancer, it is possible to treat in the early stages. But the issue is sometimes there will not be any symptoms in the early stages which makes treatment process delay. As medical breakthroughs are discovered every day and the prevention, cure, and treatments available for hundreds of diseases, cancer remains the second leading cause of death among men and women after heart disease. This does not mean that cancer research breakthroughs lack or is not coming along as fast as advances in other areas. An oncologist can use a wide range of specific therapeutic methods, only a few that are IMRT, or intensity modulated radiation therapy and TomoTherapy. Each of these has its advantages, and both are effective to deliver precise doses of radiation.
Only a radiation oncologist can help you decide exactly what form of radiation therapy may be better for a particular type of cancer, but overall progress in oncology gives new hope to cancer patients worldwide. As science continues to develop new tools and methods of treatment, we can expect more medicines and treatment process in the coming future to cure cancer in any stages and can reduce the death rate due to cancer.
